Winterfest FAQ

 

How do I receive my Winterfest Wristband?

A: You’ll pick your wristband up at the Holiday Inn in Lake George. You’ll show them your electronic confirmation (sent to you immediately following your purchase), and voila you’re on your way! 

What age is considered an adult? 

A: Adult wristbands are for ages 16 and older.

Is my wristband good for a specific weekend? 

A: Your activity is for a specific date and time. You can enjoy the perks of your Winterfest wristband throughout the months of December-March!

 

How do I know where to go for my selected activity? 

A: The Winterfest site will display the locations of the activity providers, and we’ll send you an email with all the details you need for your selected activity. This will include the address and contact information. For some activities, you will need to contact the provider to confirm your time slot.

 

Do I need a ticket for my selected activity? 

A: Your blue Tyvek wristband is your ticket to your activity.

 

What if I need to cancel? 

A: NO refunds will be issued unless an activity is cancelled by our vendor. You will be notified by email of the cancellation and issued a refund.

 

What if I need to change my activity time? 

A: Call the activity provider directly. When you purchase your wristband, we’ll provide you with all of the contact info for the activity provider.

 

How do I take a horse-drawn carriage ride? 

A: Show your wristband at the carriage stop in the Beach Road Parking Lot and hop on for a ride down Beach and Westbrook Road, returning to the starting point in the Beach Road Parking Lot.  Enjoy unlimited carriage rides every Saturday  January through March 4th from 12 pm-6pm. The carriage stop in the Beach Road Parking Lot  is noted on the Winterfest map.

 

Where do I get hot chocolate? 

A:   Just show your Winterfest wristband at Biscotti Brothers, 1 Canada Street in Lake George or Adirondack Winery, 285 Canada St. in Lake George or 395 Big Bay Road in Queensbury for unlimited hot chocolate.   

Winterfest wristbands are NOT VALID at the Lake George Village Hot Chocolate Bar.  

 

How do I access the public skating? 

A: The public ice skating rink, if conditions are favorable for skating,  is adjacent to Shepard Park Beach. It’s noted on the Winterfest map.

 

Are there skate rentals available? 

A: There are NO skate rentals available onsite.

 

How do I receive a restaurant discount? 

A: Show your Winterfest wristband at any of the participating area restaurants to receive a 10% discount. The restaurants are noted on the Restaurants page of www.lakegeorgewinterfest.com, as well as on the Winterfest map. 

 

What time can I go on my dog sled ride? 

A: You must be in Lake Placid by 10:00 a.m. for your Dog Sled Ride, which is 90 minutes North of Lake George. Your ride is a half mile lap on Mirror Lake. Additional details will be emailed to you after you have registered.

All activities are subject to change, and guests will be notified if changes are made to available activities.

ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK. I acknowledge and understand the following:

Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist.  By participating with Winterfest, I knowingly and freely assume all such risks related to illness and infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, even if arising from the negligence or fault of Warren County and Americade.  I hereby knowingly assume the risk of injury, harm and loss associated with the Activity, including any injury, harm and loss caused by the negligence, fault or conduct of any kind on the part of the Released Parties.

I understand the activities associated with Winterfest involve numerous risks including, but not limited to, the risks posed by variations in terrain and snow and ice conditions, and other hazards. I also understand mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and dog sledding involve risks posed by loss of balance, loss of control, falling, and collisions with natural and man-made objects and other participants. I further agree that all of these risks and dangers are necessary to winter activities. New York Law imposes a duty on you to become apprised of, and understand, the risks inherent in these sports, which are set forth above, so that you make an informed decision whether to participate notwithstanding the risks. New York law also imposes additional duties upon you, to which you must adhere, for the purpose of avoiding injury caused by any of the risks inherent in these winter activities. ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I have read and understand the NOTICE above. I have read, reviewed and understand the warning above. In signing, I signify that I am aware of and understand the risks inherent in these activities and that I am accountable for my action.
